Among the casualties of COVID lockdowns in 2021, the postponement of the biennial Evening of Inspiration robbed us of the opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary success of the Emmanuel College alumni community. Inspiring us for over a decade, the Inspiring Alumni and, more recently, the Young Alumni Achievers, has seen more than 60 former students recognised for their success and the difference they are making to our society in fields as diverse as the arts, business, politics, science and medicine, law, sports, education and academia. Regardless of the category, the quality that stands out among each inductee is service, making them individuals who are perfectly suited to guide our community to serve and act with compassion and justice as members of Church, local and global communities - an important principle of an Emmanuel College education.

While the event was scaled back, the experience of the evening was no different. Congratulations to Alison Farley, John McGrath, Inala Cooper, Anthony Leddin, Jacinta Reddan and Graham Warburton inducted as Inspiring Alumni; and to Meleita Crimmin, Stephanie Thiberge, Dylan Lesock, James Kol, Daniel O’Keefe, Garry Roberts and Tom O’Connor all recognised as Young Alumni Achievers.
