Tracey McDonnell

Executive Officer

I’m delighted to be joining the Emmanuel College community and the Emmanuel College Foundation at such an exciting time in its journey.

My background is in Education, and throughout my career I’ve been driven by a passion for creating opportunities for connection—between students, families, and the broader community. I’ve always believed that strong relationships are at the heart of meaningful learning and lasting impact.

I grew up in the small farming community of Chetwynd, where I saw firsthand what it means for people to support one another. In that environment, when drought, floods, or fires came, the response was never individual—it was collective. People came together with resilience, respect, and genuine care. Those early experiences shaped my values and continue to guide how I approach my work today.

Professionally, I had the privilege of coordinating the nationally recognised Standing Tall mentoring program in Hamilton. That role deepened my appreciation for the power of mentoring and the difference that can be made when people invest in relationships with shared purpose. It reinforced for me how transformative it is when young people feel seen, supported, and encouraged to reach their potential.

I’m especially looking forward to working alongside the team at Emmanuel College and its Foundation, which plays such an important role in supporting students through financial assistance. The Foundation helps open doors for more young people to access an Emmanuel education, and in doing so, strengthens engagement across Warrnambool and the wider community.

My own connection to Catholic education runs through my family history as well, including an aunt who boarded at St Ann’s. That legacy of care, belonging, and contribution has stayed with me and continues to influence the way I see community and education.

For me, this appointment is about both honouring the College’s rich history and helping to strengthen its future—ensuring Emmanuel College continues to be a place where diversity and inclusion are valued, and where every student is empowered to thrive.

I’m truly excited to be part of this community and to contribute to its ongoing growth and connection in the years ahead.
