The Emmanuel College community is invited to contribute to this year's Tax Appeal in fundraising efforts for the new innovative Year 9 facility - the Edmund Rice Centre. The Capital Appeal aims to raise $1.5million for the learning centre, supporting a dedicated space to help Year 9 students make the most of an innovative 9@RICE learning program specific to a vital phase of their educational development.
Emmanuel College is grateful for all of the continuing support with the Rice Rally now that the appeal has launched with gusto on Friday February 23!
The live broadcast on Coast FM provided great entertainment to everyone watching live from the Emmanuel Centre and those who listened from afar on the radio.
The food vans and sausage sizzle ran by Year 9 students, created a buzz at lunch time before everyone went into the Emmanuel Centre, eager for the basketball showdown to get underway!

On the day we raised over $10,000 on top of the $300,000 raised in the private phase of the appeal. With a target of $1.5million, the community has made a wonderful start to the launch of the fundraiser, with all donations helping Emmanuel College get the Edmund Rice Centre up off the ground.
Emmanuel College announced a capital appeal for its anticipated Edmund Rice Centre with a good old fashioned basketball match - the Rice Rally.
The Rice Rally on February 23 was a day for the College and broader community to come together in support of the new $16 million dollar learning facility.
The Edmund Rice Centre is set to accommodate up to 250 Year 9 students, designed to cater to the unique requirements of the 9@RICE program. Commencing construction in 2023, it is projected to be ready for occupation at the start of the 2025 school year.
The community was invited to attend Emmanuel College to watch the basketball showdown for a good cause, with All Stars Warrnambool local legends up against Emmanuel College students. 100% of ticket proceeds will be donated to the Edmund Rice Centre.
The community had the opportunity to participate in activities, see student project displays, and see Inspiring Alumni co-hosts Jonathan Brown (Class of 1999), Gorgi Coghlan (Class of 1993) and host Rookie take to the airwaves on Coast FM, courtesy of major sponsor ACE Radio.

Warrnambool sporting legends will face off against Emmanuel College students in an exciting basketball showdown, with half-time performances and live commentary adding to the fun.

The student and All Stars team players will be announced closer to the event, with half-time student performances and prizes adding to the fun.
Tickets are $15 and include access to all events throughout the day.

The College is launching a capital appeal in support of its target to raise $1.5 million towards the cost of constructing the Edmund Rice Centre. Already, the appeal has raised $300 thousand through generous donations from the community. It is approaching ten years since Emmanuel College last asked the community for support to develop the Emmanuel Centre.
Since then, the Emmanuel Centre has become the heart and soul of College events and celebrations used continuously throughout the school day, and by community groups and organisations in the evening and on weekends.
The extensive current works represent the largest investment in improvements in the school’s history. The College is grateful to the Victorian government for a grant of $2 million, while the balance will be funded by the College through its building levy, a bank loan and fund raising.
