Located on Victoria’s spectacular southwest coast, Emmanuel College, Warrnambool is a Catholic co-educational secondary school with a proud Mercy tradition and a strong connection to the Edmund Rice charism. Serving over 1300 students across Years 7–12, the College has recently completed a decade of transformative development. Guided by its Strategic Plan (2023–2026), Emmanuel is deeply committed to providing an inclusive, faith-centred education where a future focused mindset, academic aspiration and student wellbeing are central.

The Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning reports to the Principal and Deputy Principal for the strategic leadership of teaching and learning across the College.

The Assistant Principal – Teaching and Learning leads the development and implementation of contemporary pedagogy, high-impact practice and a future focussed curriculum in a culture that values community, accountability and aspiration. The role ensures alignment between purpose, policy and practice, with a strong emphasis on the professional growth of staff and the delivery of contemporary, student-centred learning across Years 7–12.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Demonstrate commitment to the Catholic ethos, equity, inclusion and community partnership in learning

• Lead a future focussed curriculum, data-informed practice and staff development

• Foster a high-performance culture grounded in evidence-informed pedagogy

• Provide strategic and instructional leadership within a Catholic educational context

Offered as a five-year contract from January 2026 (or by negotiation), applicants must have a right to work in Australia and be registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
