Emmanuel College again marked St Ann's Day this year by reconnecting with our past students of St Ann's College. Ladies from the many generations of St Ann's College, from the Class of 1989 to the Class of 1942 came together to celebrate Mass and reminisce over lunch.

The celebration of Mass is made special by being together in St Ann’s Chapel, where this year Fr Bill Lowry highlighted the importance of the role of grandparents within a family. He reflected on the role of St Ann, the grandmother of Jesus, and shared a blessing for all grandparents in attendance.

Along with plenty of opportunities for our guests to reconnect with their fellow classmates, the occasion sees our past and current students come together, giving the ladies some insight into how their school continues to thrive. Students demonstrated to our alumni some of the broad range of things they learn at Emmanuel today. This included a special performance of Ave Maria by Year 9 student Ruby Nelson, and a self-penned song by Year 12 student Ruby McKenna; lunch service by our Year 9 Food and Hospitality Class; and a project presentation by Year 8 and Year 10 students of Systems Engineering. Students highlighted their engineering thinking, aerodynamics, robotics and programming through their projects of building rocket cars and remote-controlled submarines. A loud cheer came from our alumnae when they learned that the fastest rocket car was developed by female student Jorga Lowe.

We extend a special thank you to volunteers Marita Thornton and Jane Thompson for helping set up the Founders room for the luncheon.
