On October 5, Emmanuel College was pleased to welcome back a large group of St Ann’s girls, who in many cases had not been back to the College since they finished school in or before 1969. For some, this was over 50 years!

The girls trekked all over the McAuley campus remembering the dormitories (now Year 7 Classrooms), their matriculation classroom, the junior school (where many of them attended from Prep to Grade 2) and of course the St Ann’s Chapel. They all couldn’t believe they were allowed to walk through many areas of the convent, that during the late 60s were very strictly off limits to students, as it was then home to the Sisters of Mercy.

Following their tour, the stories of their school days continued over dinner at the Warrnambool Bowls Club.

Congratulations to alumni Benradette Murphy for leading the girls back together for a successful event.
