After leaving school, Lisa Gormancompleted studies in Nursing but always had a dream to pursue career in fashion design. Without any formal training and with a lot of hard work her dream became a reality. Lisa is the Director of Gorman Industries - an award winning retail and wholesale business. She has opened seven stores located in Melbourne's GPO, Fitzroy, South Yarra, Sydney and Brisbane. Gorman Industries also supplies stores and boutiques around the world in Japan, Singapore, Canada, US, New Zealand and other Australian capital cities. Lisa's garments have garnered a cult following in Australia and overseas.
In addition to her Gorman label, the environmentally-conscious designer launched her Gorman Organic basics range, made from fibres and yarns that are certified as organically produced or otherwise grown in the wild without using conventional farming methods. Gorman Industries was one of the first in the fashion industry to take steps towards becoming carbon neutral.
