The Thomas O’Toole Foundation Industrial Skills Centre is found beneath the Auditorium of the Emmanuel Centre. The facility replicates a real-life industry environment and contains state-of-the art equipment for all technology and design study for students working with wood, metal, plastics and building industry skills.
This facility is an important component in sustaining Emmanuel’s high Year 12 retention rate and ensuring that all students have access to high quality, relevant education and training opportunities that continue to engage them and encourage them to complete their studies. The Industrial Skills Centre continues the ongoing redevelopment of Emmanuel College as a dynamic place of learning, allowing the College to provide a broad-based curriculum and to support the spectrum of different pathways taken by Emmanuel students including: further training, TAFE and university, trades, employment and traineeships.
The design of the Centre promotes learning within and between year levels and this provides real opportunities for accelerated learning.
