In the tradition of the Sisters of Mercy and Edmund Rice Education Australia, Emmanuel has been educating students since 1872. Head of Performing Arts

Emmanuel College is a leading school in contemporary music performance; including VCE VET Music and VCE VET Technical Production. VCE VET Music at Emmanuel College attracts enrolments from six regional colleges and the program is complemented by state of the art Pro Tools recording studio. Previously, students enrolled in this course have won the local Battle of the Bands competitions, featured in Triple J Unearthed High (No.1 & No.2 nationally in 2014), and received airplay on Triple J and the ABC.

The College has an active extra-curricular music program. It has participated in the national Kool Skools Songwriting & Recording project for six years; successfully winning 12 awards, including Koolest Skool in 2014. Students frequently perform at local music venues and events as well as College functions and concerts.

The music program at Emmanuel College is on the cusp of significant change. A new ­­music program is currently in development along with proposed further enhancement of music facilities. The successful applicant will be willing to encourage both traditional and contemporary musical styles in the classroom.

Drama is offered at all year levels and a biennial major musical production is alternated with an Evening of Inspiration featuring a wide range of student performances and talents.

You are:

· An experienced teacher with the ability to lead and support the Performing Arts Faculty in the development and implementation of innovative teaching and learning programs to effectively engage technology-savvy learners.

· A­ble to demonstrate your capacity to effectively contribute to whole-school strategic directions by working collaboratively with executive and teaching staff.

· Able to develop and promote creative and performing arts education ­­and enhance the profile of performing arts through positive relationships with students, staff, parents and partner primary schools.

· Proactive in finding performance opportunities for students

The ability to teach VET Music and VET Technical Production (if required) is advantageous.
