Inspiring Alumni

While we celebrate the achievements of our current students, Emmanuel College will never forget the contributions made by our students of the past. Over the 141 year history of our College, many thousands of students have been through our doors and there will be many more to come in the future. As a community, we are very proud of their ideas, passion and achievements. They have followed a great variety of paths in their lives and they are the people who have helped shape our College and the communities we live in and serve.

In 2009 our College community began to induct past students of Emmanuel, CBC and St Ann's College as Emmanuel College Inspiring Alumni. The reason for the Inspiring Alumni is to constantly demonstrate to our students that they too can achieve their dreams. Year after year the graduating Emmanuel students go out into the world to find their place in it - to discover their purpose and passion. They do not sit back and wait for the world to come to them. If we can help our students to dream, give them the tools to achieve their dreams and inspire them with examples of success, then we are going a long way towards fulfilling our role as educators.

Inductee Br Frank O'Shea best summed up the spirit of the Inspiring Alumni when he said that, "The ideal of awards such as this is to inspire, like a fire that ignites other fires, this generation of Emmanuel boys and girls. It is for this reason that I will accept the award."

If you would like to nominate a past student for the Inspiring Alumni please contact Jean Christie at Emmanuel College.
