In 2021 the Director of Rice will lead current year nine staff and students in the day to day operation of the existing campus while also guiding and shaping the development of the 9@RICE Program in conjunction with the 9@RICE Program Coordinator and 9@RICE Student Coordinator.  From 2022, year nine staff and students will commence 9@RICE at the Rice Campus.  The Director of Rice will have a reduced teaching load commensurate with the level of responsibility.  Rice Campus is named after Blessed Edmund Rice, the founder of the Christian Brothers who provided education for young men in Warrnambool between 1902 and 1991 when Emmanuel College was born.  The new Program, built upon the foundation stones of resilience, innovation, community and endeavor, will incorporate project based and challenge learning in a community environment to extend young minds and bodies and prepare students for their senior school pathway.

In 2022 Rice Campus will begin operating as a dedicated year nine campus.  The Director of Rice will have overall responsibility for the operation of the campus, the leadership of staff, the care and guidance of students and communication with parents. The Director will also play a role in advising the College Leadership Team regarding the proposed future redevelopment of the Campus and the redesign of buildings to reflect 9@RICE learning.

This is a senior leadership position attracting a POL 4.  The person appointed to the position will be a member of the College Executive and report to the Deputy Principal.  It is an opportunity to significantly influence the teaching and learning that will be offered at this Campus from 2022.
